Annapolis Valley Lake and Ridge Runners Snowmobile Club Feb 3rd update.
Trails:
There is limited snowmobiling on the fire roads on the South Mountain and Rail bed. We do not suggest using the mountain approach trails, rather drive to the Lake Paul Area to unload. DO NOT expect great conditions, approximately 15 cm of snow. No Grooming, if there is a lot of traffic the trails will deteriorate quickly.
Lakes are snow covered for the most part. AVLRR does not report on ice thickness.
Saturday Feb 4th Event:
Show your support to some of the businesses who depend on Snowmobilers! Realizing conditions are not great we have decided to have an AUTOMOBILE POKER RALLY !! Registration is between 10:30 am and 11:30am at the Lake Paul Community Center, 23 kms South of the Village of Aylesford, on Aylesford Road, toward Aylesford Lake / Lake Paul. Easy to find.
Enjoy Pancakes, French Toast, bacon and eggs for a free will offering. We are keeping it short and simple, should be back at Lake Paul by 2:30pm for prizes. YOU DON’T have to be there to win Poker Rally or 50/50. Put a sign on your vehicle “ Pray for SNOW” for a chance to win a prize. Dress up showing your BRAND Loyalty for chance to win a prize too. How much AC Lime Green can one person wear ??
If you don’t have time to do the whole rally why not come out for a meal, or plan on dropping by the Farmers Family Diner 1248 Ward Road for a meal this weekend and say thanks for staying open this winter. If you are out in the New Ross / East Dalhousie are why not drop into Borden’s In the Woods for a bowl of soup or chili and some fuel for your vehicle. Introduce yourself as a snowmobiler.
Once grooming gets underway we will have organized events.
